Frequently Asked Questions

Kyidom Rice is available in major supermarkets across Ghana including Shoprite, Melcom, and MaxMart. You can also purchase directly from us through our contact channels for bulk orders (10kg+). For our diaspora customers, we're currently available through select African grocery stores in the UK, US, and Canada.

Kyidom Rice stands out through our triple guarantee: 100% stone-free, locally grown by Ghanaian farmers, and hygienically processed. Unlike imported rice, we maintain full control of our supply chain from farm to package, ensuring superior quality while supporting local agriculture. Our rice is also specially cleaned to preserve its natural nutrients and flavor.

For best results, store unopened packages in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After opening, transfer rice to an airtight container and keep in your pantry. In Ghana's humid climate, you may add a few dried bay leaves to prevent insects. Properly stored, our rice maintains optimal quality for up to 12 months.

Yes! We offer special wholesale pricing for restaurants, caterers, and retailers purchasing 25kg bags or larger. Bulk orders receive additional benefits including free delivery within Greater Accra, flexible payment terms, and customized packaging options. Contact our sales team via phone or the contact form for wholesale inquiries.

While Kyidom Rice is a natural, unprocessed carbohydrate, we offer a special low-GI (Glycemic Index) variety that's more suitable for diabetics when consumed in moderation. This variety undergoes minimal processing to retain more fiber, resulting in slower glucose absorption. As with any dietary concern, we recommend consulting your nutritionist.

We partner directly with over 200 smallholder farmers across Ghana through our "Paddy to Plate" program. This includes:
- Paying 15-20% above market prices
- Providing free agricultural training
- Offering interest-free equipment loans
- Funding community projects in farming villages
5% of all profits are reinvested in farmer development initiatives.

For perfect results every time, use a 1:1.5 rice-to-water ratio (1 cup of rice is to 1 and half cups of water). Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 15-18 minutes. For fluffier rice, let it rest for 5 minutes after cooking before serving. These instructions apply to our standard white rice - our parboiled variety may require slightly more water and cooking time.

Currently, 60% of our rice is grown using organic practices, though we're in the process of obtaining full organic certification from the Ghana Organic Agriculture Network. Our farmers use natural pest control methods and organic fertilizers. We intentionally avoid harmful pesticides and chemicals in all our rice production.

We welcome visitors by appointment! We offer monthly "Farm to Table" tours where you can see our operations firsthand, meet the farmers, and learn about rice production. Tours include transportation from Accra, lunch featuring Kyidom Rice dishes, and a complimentary sample pack. Contact us at least 2 weeks in advance to schedule.

We're always looking to expand our distribution network. Potential distributors should have:
- Existing retail channels in Ghana or internationally
- Proper storage facilities
- Business registration documents
Submit your application through our website's contact form with "Distribution Inquiry" as the subject. Our team will contact you within 3 business days with our distributor requirements and benefits package.
